I am a green fingered, wild hearted Yogi, always a student especially to my daughter who teaches me so much! I am a nature lover and landscape architect, currently weaving both my passions together into one beautiful tapestry. I have been an avid yoga practitioner since 2006 and have been teaching yoga regularly in London since 2015. I recently moved back to the Midlands and am in the process of setting up a wee green studio out of my house in Boldmere, Sutton Coldfield. I still teach workshops and classes periodically in London so please check my social media for regular updates to my teaching schedule.
With deep respect for the South Asian roots of yoga I set out here my immediate lineage and teachers to whom I am ever grateful and to their teachers who have all carried these teachings forward with integrity.
I am an Anusara Inspired™ and Rasa yoga trained teacher. I completed my 200hr Anusara trainings in 2013 with Bridget Woods Kramer in London and Katie Lane in New Zealand and I completed my 200hr Rasa training in 2019 with Tanja Mickwitz.
Anusara Inspired™ Yoga is a Hatha Yoga that focuses on how we align ourselves physically and emotionally with the concept of Grace.
In each Anusara™ practice, we explore the powerful Universal Principals of Alignment™ through a carefully designed class that is centred around a heart oriented theme. Rasa yoga is an empowering practice that helps us stay connected to ourselves and the world through all the different flavours of life.
My classes are often different and include meditation and breath work. Classes have clear alignment instructions and are paced slowly to encourage a more mindful approach to movement.
I believe yoga is a process of exploration, cultivation and unfolding. Just as we cultivate our gardens to grow, blossom and dissolve through the seasons we nurture our own bodies through their cycles. When we observe closely and work WITH nature, with nourishment, care and space to unfold, each plant and person reveals their own natural beauty.
